Even the losers, get lucky some time
2004-11-03

Our foray into election land was totally painless. There were no lines, no problems, no issues at all. They were even serving hot cider and pastry outside our polling place. We vote by optically scanned ballots and people it is the way to go. Not only are the votes counted right away, but you get a paper receipt incase a physical recount is required. Sweet.
After voting we went out to dinner, I had a few grapes and we headed home to settle in to watch results. Some people we voted for won, some lost. Life goes on. There is much wailing and disbelief in some parts here in the Northeast (and Dland too) today.
To some folks here this wasn't an election, it was a crusade. They were totally convinced they were right in their choices and totally convinced there was no way they could lose, and if they did the world was going to end... immediately.
Well guess what, they were wrong and yet the sun still came up this morning. The world did not end. What's up with that huh? There is going to be a lot of Pr0zac dispensed here in the next few weeks. Me? I'm glad it is over so life can get back to normal. Oh and please take the time to hug a liberal today. You just might stop them from jumping off a bridge or something. And life goes on.
Happy Wednesday
