Red skies at night..
2004-05-17

We didn't race yesterday. It was a combination of lack of wind, lack of crew and lack of ambition/energy. M.E. and I both went home and took a nap instead. It was a good thing.

We didn't get home until after 1:30 both Friday and Saturday. Friday, we had a nice dinner at a piano bar and then hit the YC. All of our friends were there and we stayed until closing. Mo and Rodger talked us into hitting the Trap for one. it's call the trap because it's easy to go, but much harder to get out in a timely manner. Ugh...

Saturday I did yard work, boat work and then we hit the commodores ball. it is always weird seeing everybody dressed up and there were a few surprises. Some folks clean up really nicely. The food was fancy bird sized portions, but the band was super. I even danced a bunch and M.E was on the floor all night. Most people stayed late, the sign of a sucessful party.

So, we were beat again and had to get up early on Sunday. That made it pretty easy to blow off the race. We lazed around the house after the nap thing and then got in some serious boat cleaning and teak oiling. It looks so much better. I was a good boy and did not hit the bar on the way home either and today wil also be alcohol free.

I had a bunch of really weird dreams last night and woke up more tired than when I went to bed. Hopefully this will be overcome as the day goes on.

It's gray, damp and cool here in the northeast and it feels like Monday.
