The police were here. I had to give a statement. He isn't dead, he's in jail for arson and faking his own death. You see there was a fight with his girlfriend, so the threatened to slit his throat and blow up the boat. Apparently he only had nerve for the latter. One of the dock hands saw him with burnt arms wandering up the street. I kept thinking of the poor girl, the pain... I hope he stays locked up a long time. Idiot...
