The day before and the day we left.
2003-03-03

When we got to the airport last Saturday at 4:00 freaking am it was already pretty packed. The line to check in wound around the whole concourse and the big X ray machines weren't even fired up yet. Even at 2 hours early we were the last of our party of 18 to get there and we stumbled into line like everybody else and began the security shuffle.

We made it to just about the front of the line when all these people behind us dashed right by. I yelled that we were in line and this bitchy lady said that the US Air rep told them to move and that it was to early to get into an argument. Too early to argue? No F-ing way. I tracked down lil ms US Air and asked her in a not so nice way what the hell she was doing. When she realized what she had done she tried to fix the damage by moving people where they should have been, but by then the damage was mostly done. Idiots.... I did check in ahead of ms bitch though.. One plus for me.

The plane rides to Puerto Rico were uneventful and the Hotel, the Wyndahm Cananado was nice, but the rooms were nothing special. We spent most of the time at the pool bar. Gee what a surprise.

I caught M.E. just as she was twisting the neck of a bottle of water in the room. Shw wanted to know what the big deal was until she read the tag. $7 plus tax and handling fee... That water cost us $8.40 I did manage to stop her from breaking the seal on the mini-bar, a minor victory.

The next morning we checked out and sat drinking bloodies by the pool and waiting to be picked up. Of course they didn't have enough seats for everybody when the bus came so we had to wait. Blah...

When we finally got to the ship, well it was just too big to be believed. This thing has 14 public decks and 17 bars. Once we checked in, we decided that a good way to explore the ship was to bop from bar to bar. So we did. We started at the 13th floors 19th hole (near the golf course), over to the Blue Moon which over looked the pools and went down from there. UGH... We did get a pretty good handle on walking the ship while half tanked though, which proved to be very useful for the next week.

Or room was on the 8th deck and was pretty large for a ship. We had a balcony that over looked the pominade deck and offered a birds eye view of the ships comings and goings. On the way in, we hit the duty free shop and bought 8 bottles of wine and 4 bottles of vodka. Absolute Vodka was $6 a bottle. Sweet...

We all had dinner in the Windjammer and then 8 of us crammed on the balcony to watch the ship pull out. Our vacation had officially started.
