People forget....
2002-09-11

It's funny, dispite all the reminders how soon people have forgotten. Oh they remember what happened, and say they are still horrified, but for many, they aren't. They are going through the motions because they feel they should, but the outrage, the patriotism, the sorrow for innocent life lost isn't there.

I hated those people that did this. They didn't kill soldiers, they killed office workers and janitors and cooks. Anything we could do to them wasn't enough. All those poor people, killed for ideology that will NEVER see our side of things. All the people who celebrated in the streets that the great America had been humbled. America is the great Satan, even though most of the food used to feed their poor comes from here. Down with America, even though while their rich arab brothers let them sit in poverty, US aid continues to flow. Human rights are being violated, Taliban aren't being treated well enough in Cuba. Well you know something I don't care. If they were all dead tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear. They told us we were at war and we didn't believe them. Then 9/11 came and people believed.... for a while. Now life is back to normal except for a bit of uneasyness. Uneasyness...

There is an old saying, people who ignore history are destined to repeat it. I wonder if the terrorists were right, the American attention span is just to short to fight a real war these days, because if you've forgotten the horror, then they really have won.
