I don't know what was worse, trying to keep one of my employees from crying as I escorted her out the door, or seeing the faces of the rest of my staff as I told them I was leaving too. They needed to cut payroll, and I was a big chunk. There are more behind too. Sad....

I won't miss the company but I will miss the people. Hell the HR Manager was in tears in my office while I packed my stuff. They might have an opening for me if I want to move to Buffalo. Yeah right...

My engineer helped me move my stuff to the truck and said that where ever I landed to give him a call and he'd come to work for me any time. The new plant manager (this was his decision) just said thanks. Strictly business you understand.

I get a weeks severance and two weeks vacation pay. Counting the check I get for this week, that gives me a month. Unemployment is less than half my weekly check so things will be tight if I don't find something soon. Today will be my day to grieve, tomorrow I'll start a fresh page.

Oh and to those who have my work email address, don't use it any more. If you want my home one, leave me a not and I'll forward it along.
